Group Head of Insights - Liverpool

OJ have partnered with a leading organisation to find a Group Head of Insights. This is a fast paced growing business located in Liverpool and has been performing very well during Covid. The business is looking for experienced candidates and this is a key role in the marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • At the most fundamental level, this role spearheads the collation of insight and intelligence across the Group
  • There is functional accountability for the development and execution of performance reporting to support Marketing initiatives across all three verticals of the AG business
  • Intelligence should be used to help feed the Commercial Planning function in developing plans for customer acquisition and retention, be they end consumers, redemption partners, agents, third party volume distributors or corporate clients
  • Insight should highlight where there is corrective action required, be this in terms of audience selection, campaign content or media execution plans
  • The role holder is also responsible for gathering detailed insight around our customer base - building audience segmentation and targeting approaches, leveraging the emerging world of the enhanced marketing technology layer
  • Ongoing intelligence should be gathered regarding the competitive marketplace, with sight of competitor activity, consumer demand changes and significant marketing opportunities
  • The role holder (and team) is a key user of internal data and systems as well as external data and intelligence - they should brief external agency research, highlight where there are gaps in internal knowledge, and continually challenge the business with fact-based insight
  • Output from the role holder will help with developing business strategy (via identifying where there are threats or opportunities
  • product strategy (by acting as a dispassionate voice of the customer into product design processes) and marketing performance (by shining a light on grounded, consistent performance data
  • showing at all times results versus expectation) - Proactively have frequent contact and regular presentations to senior stakeholders to provide actionable insight around marketing channels, customer performance and market trends along with response to ad hoc requests
  • Ultimately, the role holder should own the relationships with data and technology providers for the Marketing Technology Layer

Skills Required

  • Ability to investigate, interpret and translate data into actionable insight
  • Experience in briefing market research projects (qualitative and quantitative) which have resulted in uncovering actionable results
  • Use of SQL code - Outstanding communicator of complex business information
  • Understanding of customer segmentation techniques, customer acquisition and lifetime values
  • Experience in marketing campaign analysis
  • Can demonstrate commercial awareness with an understanding of the retail environment
  • Team player with proven leadership skills - Excellent presentation skills
  • Analytical thinker - Possess a passion for customer first - Positive can-do attitude
