This role is the first hire of a Head of Compliance for the firm, and will be responsible for leading and growing the existing compliance team while establishing a compliance framework and playing a key role in regulatory issues in the product filing stages.
- To be a trusted, strategic second Line of Defense partner to the team focusing on developing Compliance culture and providing leadership for the compliance team within the business
- Collaborating with senior management to provide timely, value add, pragmatic, high quality compliance advice across the primary insurance value chain
- Using your expertise, you will support the development of compliant products and distribution propositions by closely partnering with business functions
- To build, implement and oversee a commercial and pragmatic product filing strategy for the local compliance team.
- Supporting delivery of the Compliance strategy by inputting to the development of Annual Compliance Plans within the business and input to the Annual Compliance Plan
- To develop and ensure appropriate implementation of a robust risk-based Compliance Programme for the business taking business model specific requirements into account, including maintenance of Compliance Risk frameworks in coordination with overall Compliance Group
- Supporting Division Legal and Compliance key initiatives and advancing specific priorities relevant to the business
- Providing regular compliance risk reporting to the board of directors, the senior management team and input to the parent company's Compliance reports
- Providing relevant reporting to regulatory/competent authorities as appropriate
- Engaging and collaborating with other expert functions including Legal and Risk Management to ensure the provision of consistent advice
- Providing guidance on oversight of distributors and outsourced service providers as part of the oversight framework and conducting specific compliance oversight as required
