Excellent IFRS17 Actuarial opportunity..

Our leading life insurance client is seeking to appoint a Senior Actuary to join their IFRS17 focus team. The role provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidates to gain a working knowledge of IFRS 17, and to apply their actuarial skills in playing a key part in the implementation of this high-profile project for the Group.

Your role will include;

  • Impact assessment of and closure of remaining Policy Formulation areas
  • Support the detailed application of Policy Formulation positions and translation to methodology and operational implementation including requirements for the development of actuarial models and actuarial processes.
  • Requirements for configuration of components in the target IFRS17 technology landscape, development of test plans and perform validation testing.
  • Facilitate ongoing earnings impact analysis and development of the company opening balance sheet (transitional impact).
  • Contribute to the Operational and Change Management workstream, including engagement across the business to ensure the readiness of wider business functions for IFRS17.

Responsibilities & Duties;

  • Lead key aspects of IFRS 17 policy formulation, technology & process implementation, and operational project workstreams
  • Work collectively with fellow team members to ensure consistent application and implementation
  • Contribute to the direction of the overall IFRS 17 program
  • Manage a challenging workload and ensure key deliverables are identified and prioritised.
  • Work collaboratively with a broad range of actuarial and finance colleagues to facilitate the assessment of the impact of IFRS17

Desired Knowledge and experience;

  • An actuarial qualification or a number of years of experience as a trainee actuary
  • Experience in actuarial reporting or development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive and positive approach to their work
  • A strong blend of technical ability, judgement, and commercial awareness
  • A good understanding of products within the Group
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to flex depending on the circumstances
  • For the roles within the Actuarial Development team, knowledge of Prophet and/or SQL would be an advantage.
  • For the role within the IFRS17 team, knowledge of key concepts under IFRS17 and experience of traditional insurance products would be an advantage.
