Oliver James are currently supporting our client, a General Insurer, in search for a Risk & Data Protection Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to progress there career within a growing Risk team. There will be a pathway for this individual to move into a Head of Risk role.

The role will have a 70-80% split on Risk Management and the rest of the time spent on Data Protection.

Risk: The role from a Risk perspective will be to provide oversight of and independent challenge to the risk assessments taken by the 1st Line of Defence.

Data Protection: You will be responsible for ensuring the Data Protection principles, governance and processes are implemented through the company.

Key Risk Responsibilities:

- Constantly challenging and better the design of risk management system across the business

- Supporting the maintenance of the 2nd line of defence across the business

- Working closely with the Head of Risk to advisor the board including the CEO- on how the operational risk profile could impact the business

- To work with the company's CRO and Operational Risk Function to continuously develop processes

Key Data Protection Responsibilities:

- To offer advice on Privacy Impact Assessment

- To implement Company Policies and guidelines on Personal Data Protection and to then monitor the implementation

- Review and advise on the implementation of the management of personal data breach

You must have:

4+ Years of Operational Risk/ Enterprise Risk experience

1+ Year of experience in Data Protection

To have worked in a regulated environment before

The ideal candidate will have worked within the Insurance market before, but can also consider those with Financial Services Experience.
