We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer within Security experience who wants to become a Security Engineer. You would be joining a reputable and expanding tech-lead business just south of Wakefield.

This business is currently going through a large transformation programme towards the cloud and a more Agile focused environment.

This role will involve taking responsibility for the provision of 3rd line network / server / storage and infrastructure security support across the business's internal users & external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The planning, designing, installing, configuration, maintenance & optimisation of network & server security, as well as the diagnosing, resolving and documenting of hardware / software installations & changes
  • Planning, designing, installing, configuration and maintenance of the security systems including Encryption methods (Web filtering, Firewalls, Email Filters, Anti Virus)
  • The planning & overseeing of annual penetration testing across the entire IT estate
  • Responsible for monthly testing & remediation of network devices using Nessus tools to identify and remediation new vulnerabilities
  • Responsible for the smooth operation of web & email security solutions
  • Lead technical investigations
  • React to security incidents in a timely & professional manor

Key Skills & Experience

  • In depth knowledge of information security principles
  • Working, hands on knowledge of current network hardware, protocols & standards
  • Experience with server performance management tools
  • A good understanding of LAN & WAN security (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, IPSec VPN etc)
  • Hands on experience & knowledge with network components, network operating systems, server hardware components, IT Hardware & Software
  • Experience in network security and understanding around ISO 270001
  • Experience / understanding around intrusion detection, policy creation, social engineering, DDoS Attacks, Buffer Overflows, Virus creation
  • Good level of Nessus experience

This is a fantastic role that will give you the opportunity to get involved with a broad range of technologies in a position where you will gain exposure across the IT Security space. This is a hands on role with a focus around Networks, storage and servers.

Currently mid process of migrating over to Azure, this role will also give you the opportunity to work within a cloud environment.
